Repair policy

Repair and service process for Blue Water Design hardware and related products.

Repair policy

Blue Water Design provides repair service for eligible equipment based on product age, condition, parts availability, and the nature of the failure. This repair policy explains the process for returning equipment for evaluation and repair.

For warranty coverage, please refer to the Blue Water Design Standard Warranty.

Warranty repairs

Blue Water Design equipment is covered by a one-year limited warranty against qualifying defects, as described in the Blue Water Design Standard Warranty.

If equipment fails during the warranty period due to a covered defect, Blue Water Design may repair or replace the equipment at no charge, subject to the terms of the warranty.

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage or failure caused by external or non-warranty causes, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect wiring or installation
  • Physical damage
  • Lightning or surge damage
  • Water intrusion or environmental exposure outside product specifications
  • Misuse, neglect, or improper testing
  • Unauthorized modification or repair
  • Damage caused by third-party equipment or systems

Non-warranty repairs

Equipment that is outside the one-year warranty period, or that has failed due to a non-warranty cause, may be returned to Blue Water Design for evaluation.

Non-warranty repairs are handled based on the age of the equipment from the date of original sale.

Equipment less than five years old

For equipment less than five years from the date of original sale, Blue Water Design will evaluate the returned unit and determine the appropriate repair path.

Depending on the condition of the unit and the nature of the failure, Blue Water Design may offer:

  • Flat-rate repair
  • Flat-rate board replacement
  • Replacement with current equipment, if repair is not practical

Repair and board replacement fees depend on the equipment type.

Equipment five years old or older

For equipment five years or more from the date of original sale, Blue Water Design will attempt repair when practical and when replacement parts are available.

Repairs for equipment in this category are offered for a fixed repair fee based on the equipment type.

Board replacement is not available for equipment five years or more from the date of original sale. If the unit cannot be repaired, Blue Water Design may recommend replacement with current equipment.

Return process

Please contact Blue Water Design before returning equipment. Returned equipment should include:

  • Customer name and contact information
  • Equipment model and serial number
  • Original purchase information, if available
  • Description of the problem
  • Relevant installation, wiring, or site details
  • Any known cause of failure, such as lightning, surge, wiring error, water intrusion, or physical damage

After evaluation, Blue Water Design will determine whether the equipment is covered under warranty, eligible for non-warranty repair, eligible for board replacement, or not practical to repair.

Shipping

Customers are responsible for shipping equipment to Blue Water Design unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For qualifying warranty repairs, return shipping will be handled according to the Blue Water Design Standard Warranty.

For non-warranty repairs, return shipping may be included in the repair fee or charged separately depending on equipment type, destination, and shipping requirements.

Repair limitations

Repair service is subject to product condition, parts availability, and Blue Water Design's ability to safely and practically test and repair the equipment.

Blue Water Design may decline repair service for equipment that is obsolete, heavily damaged, modified, unsafe to test, or otherwise not practical to repair.
